Cleary & Lee - A long record of service

One of the oldest law firms in Toowoomba, Cleary & Lee was established in 1919 when the firm's founder, Edward William Cleary, purchased the Toowoomba legal practice of the late Mr Frank Brennan (later Mr Justice Brennan). Joining in partnership with Edward Cleary in 1953 was Mr John Joseph Lee.

Today Pat Nunan and Bill Nunan are the Cleary & Lee Partners. John Cleary, who retired in 2004, being Toowoomba's most senior legal practitioner, was the son of founding partner Edward Cleary and was admitted as a solicitor in 1949. Pat Nunan was admitted in 1972, with Bill Nunan being admitted in 1983.

The firm also employs Trainee Solicitor, Articled Clerk, plus para-legal support staff and clerical staff. Cleary & Lee handles all areas of legal practice but specialises in Personal Injury, Workers' Compensation, Insurance Law, Military Law, Local Government, Property Conveyancing, Wills, Estate Planning and Administration, Trusts, Corporate and Commercial Advice.

Apart from the usual services offered by a medium-sized regional law firm, Cleary & Lee has more recently made an exciting move into the Asia-Pacific region, being involved with litigation in the Philippines, Indonesia and other South-East Asian countries. As a result, Cleary & Lee has gained specialist experience in both aviation and maritime disasters and is currently involved in several of these cases within the Asia-Pacific region.
